The practice is devoted exclusively to representing consumer debtors considering bankruptcy relief. By limiting my practice to consumer debtors I can better concentrate my energy and resources toward their needs. My office is dedicated to providing quality legal services at a reasonable fee. In advising consumer debtors I devote considerable effort to educating them about the bankruptcy process so as to remove any fears and uncertainties they may have. Bankruptcy relief does not come without some cost and consequence and it is more effective at resolving some debt related problems than others. I take care to explain the limitations of the process as it may apply to the circumstances of a particular client, so as to ensure that the client's expectations are not unrealistic. A bankruptcy attorney can only advise a debtor on how to best resolve his or her financial difficulties after a through consultation and review of the individual's particular circumstances. In order for this process to be effective, a debtor must truthfully and fully disclose his or her financial situation to the bankruptcy attorney.

I inform each client of the relief available under Chapters 7,11,12, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code, although I only represent clients who file under either Chapter 7 or 13. Chapter 12 is designed to permit family farmers to repay their debts over a period of time from future earnings, and is similar to Chapter 13, which permits individuals other than farmers to repay their debts over time from future earnings. Chapter 11 is primarily designed for the reorganization of business debtors, but it is also available to consumer debtors. Chapter 7 deals with the liquidation of a debtor's non-exempt assets. A debtor must turn over his or her non-exempt assets to a trustee, who then converts the property to cash and pays the debtor's creditors. In many cases there are little or no non-exempt assets available for such distribution.
